Access links at the Waterways at Fish Island and the Lower Lea: (1) Old Forge Footbridge (2) Wallis Road bridge (3) Bromley by Bow bridge, Tower Hamlets

Brief Project Description

This project comprised a package of improvements to: two bridges and one underpass, each providing pedestrian access across the A12 re-connecting coimmunities to the Lower lea waterway network as follows:

  • Wallis Bridge Footbridge links Victoria Park to Fish Island at the Grand Union/ Lea Navigation junction
  • Old Ford Lock Footbridge links Bow to Old Ford Lock
  • The Bromley by Bow underpass links bromley by Bow (at the underground station entrance) to Three Mills and Bow Lock

Specifically SRB2 funds were directed at: construction of Old Ford Lock Footbridge and design and construction of the Bromley by Bow underpass.

£70,000

Start- Completion dates

Jan 2001 - March 2002
