Location Tottenham Marshes, Haringey Brief Project Description This project was developed from the findings of CAG community consultants in 1997/98 to develop community-led projects in Tottenham Marshes working with the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and adjacent communities north of Ferry Lane and south of Wild Marshes East and West. The projects were: 1. A second phase consultation to include the production of a leaflet to inform the park's community about the Tottenham Marshes masterplan, in-going community consultation and its implementation. Outputs/benefits: communicating the masterplan and the results of the consultations to the regional community. 2. Screen planting at Watermead Road (A1055) following more detailed landscaping assessment. Outputs/benefits: tree planting providing screening of poor views out of Tottenham Marshes and new wildlife habitat. 3. Opening up of 'Windows' into Tottenham Marshes from Watermead Road by removing sections of the wall on the west side of the marshes. Outputs/benefits: improved accessibility and legibility of Tottenham Marshes to encourage greater use. 4. Presenting main access points on Tottenham Marshes as 'gateways' to the Lee Valley Park. This will be the first phase of strategic assessment and presentation of the park's main access points. Outputs/benefits: improved accessibility and presentation of the Tittenham Marshes to visitors creating increased use. 5. Reinstatement of bridge over Watermead Road with inclusion of art project working with LVRPA and LB Haringey.
