Brief Project Description

This project was continuing the work of past SRB2  funded projects on Tottenham Marshes. Projects in this year concentrated on three areas:

(1) tree planting and landscape enhancement to boost amenity value, ecological value and screening/noise reduction to industrial areas and Pymmes Brook. This will include native tree species and the introduction of maintenance regimes which allow for access while conserving the wildlife/flora habitats.

(2) Seating throughout the marshes consistent with users views and the BT countryside for All Access guidelines. Part of the project will be achieved through the commissioning of a community artist to work up the designs.

(3) Further waymarking and signing both within and to from the Marshes to facilitate increased use.

(3) The preperation of an access (cycle and pedestrian) bidding document focussing on an area between Eastway and Springfield which ties into proposals for the Essex Filter Beds Nature Reserve and the construction of the Leyton Relief Road.

Amount of funding

£66,000
