Lincoln Estate Home Zone

Brief Project Description

The Lincoln Estate Home Zone's project through a series of environmental imoprovements renovated the urban green spaces and changed the way that the roads are used used in the area. The project was designed to address the following issues:

  • Rising crime rates
  • Socially excluded communities that have little or no access to attractive and safe environments and green leisure spaces
  • Rising accident rates
  • 'Rat-running' and joy-riding incidents in the streets
  • Street crimes
  • Ant-social behaviour
  • Unattractive, dangerous streets for residents

The project linked people with local resources and services through a structured 'Green Pathway' running from north of the Bromley area to south of the Lincoln area.

Funding from SRB2 funded:

  • raised kerb-level table which formed level-crossing
  • signage, planting, street furniture
  • consultations with local people
